Cantia (gens) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Cantia (gens) The ''gens Cantia'' was a plebeian family at Rome. It is known primarily from a single individual, Marcus Cantius, tribune of the plebs in 293 B.C. He brought an indictment against Lucius Postumius Megellus, one of the consuls of the preceding year. Postumius, however, was appointed legate to the consul Spurius Carvilius Maximus, whose popularity shielded him from a trial. Some manuscripts give the tribune's ''nomen'' as ''Scantius''.〔Titus Livius, ''Ab Urbe Condita'', x. 46.〕〔''Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography and Mythology'', William Smith, Editor.〕 ==See also==
